Bemotrizinol sunscreen brands in the US: eight on the FDA register, two filed under another name
Search the FDA's drug register for bemotrizinol and six finished sunscreens come back. Search it again for the same molecule under its cosmetic ingredient name, bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine, and two more appear that the first search never shows. Both are filed by Chinese companies, both claim the sunscreen monograph, and one of them states an avobenzone level above the limit the monograph sets.
So the answer to "which brands have bemotrizinol in the US" is eight products from five filers as of September 10, 2026 - and none that we could put in a shopping basket.

Two filings a name search misses
Bemotrizinol is the name the FDA uses in the monograph. bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine is the name the same molecule carries on cosmetic ingredient lists, and it is the one used on packs in Europe and Asia. The register stores whatever name the filer typed, and a search matches only the name you type.
- Juyasuyon Sport Ultra Sunscreen Cream, filed August 25, 2026, lists the cosmetic name at 1%, alongside octocrylene 7.5%, oxybenzone 3.5% and avobenzone 2.5%. It is the only bemotrizinol product on the register that also contains oxybenzone.
- ORLASKIN SPF50 Antioxidant Soothing Complex Sunscreen, registered June 26, 2026, lists the cosmetic name at 2%. Octinoxate and octisalate are on its label under their cosmetic names too, as ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate and ethylhexyl salicylate.
Neither shows up in a search for bemotrizinol, and neither appears in any coverage of the new filter we could find. Our own tracker missed both until this check; it now lists all eight.
One filing states avobenzone above the monograph's limit
The sunscreen monograph, as amended by the FDA's 2026 order, sets a ceiling for every permitted active. For avobenzone the text reads: "(b) Avobenzone up to 3 percent." The ORLASKIN label states avobenzone at 5 g per 100 g - 5%.
The same filing was entered on the register on June 26, 2026, six weeks before the order that added bemotrizinol took effect on August 9, and its label was republished on August 10. We are reporting what the filing says next to what the monograph says. The FDA has published nothing about this filing, and we do not know how it will treat it.
The newest is a stick
Juyasuyon Invisible Sunscreen was registered on September 5, 2026: a 10 g stick with bemotrizinol at 3%, homosalate 10%, octocrylene 6.5%, octisalate 4% and avobenzone 2%. It is the first stick among the bemotrizinol filings made under the monograph. The order allows that form - it limits bemotrizinol products to "oil, lotion, cream, gel, butter, paste, ointment, stick, and spray", with sprays restricted to those that use no propellant.
Who filed them
Both Juyasuyon products come from Guangdong Aimu Biological Technology, which has 34 entries on the register. They include lidocaine numbing creams, antifungal treatments and sunscreens sold under other names such as MELAO and HEY HOTTIE. ORLASKIN's filer, Guangzhou Yapheon Health Industry, also registers ORLASKIN acne treatments. Neither company says on its filings whether it holds a licence from DSM, which has an 18-month exclusivity on bemotrizinol that extends to its licensees. Licence holders are not published.
Can you buy any of them?
Not that we could find. An Amazon US search for Juyasuyon on September 10, 2026 returned no Juyasuyon products. The same search for ORLASKIN returned two ORLASKIN-branded sunscreens, but neither listing names bemotrizinol, and neither carries the name of the registered product, so we could not connect them to the filing. The Ultra Violette and Neutrogena products are covered on their own pages; none of them could be bought either when we last checked.
What Amazon does sell is a set of unbranded listings that use the ingredient's name in their titles. We looked those up on the register and found none of them there.
Older filings under the cosmetic name
The cosmetic name turns up older records too. Two Beauty Body Factorie Body Shield SPF filings, from a US company and a Malaysian one, were registered on September 4, 2025 with bemotrizinol among five filters at 3% each. They are filed as unapproved drug other, not under the monograph. On DailyMed, a search on the cosmetic name returns 11 labels, from a 2011 O HUI sunscreen to three 2026 Kiehl's labels filed as export only. What we could not confirm
- Whether any of the three new products is sold in the US, anywhere. Amazon was the only retailer we searched for Juyasuyon and ORLASKIN.
- Whether the two ORLASKIN sunscreens on Amazon are related to the registered product. Their listings do not say.
- Whether any of these filers is a DSM licensee.
- Whether the FDA has acted on, or will act on, the ORLASKIN filing's avobenzone level.
- Whether other filings use yet another name for the same molecule. We searched the two names in common use.
