About

Skincare Launches is a reference for new skincare and sunscreen releases in the United States. We record the facts a shopper needs before buying and show where each one came from.

Why this site exists

There is no shortage of writing about new skincare. What is missing is the plain record: the day a product goes on sale in the US, what it costs, how much is in the bottle, and what that comes to per fluid ounce. Monthly roundups pick fifteen products an editor liked and often skip the size entirely, which makes two products impossible to compare on price. Ingredient databases list what is in a formula but not when or where you can buy it.

We fill that gap and nothing else. Each page is a record of one launch.

How we check things

  • We read the brand's own product page and the retailer's own listing, and record what is printed there.
  • Every figure carries the date we checked it. Prices and availability change, and a date lets you judge whether a page is still current.
  • When we cannot confirm something, the page says it is unconfirmed. We do not estimate a price or a release date to fill a gap.
  • Shipping is part of the price. Where a retailer's total cost cannot be determined without placing an order, we say so rather than quoting a figure that is not what you would pay.

What we do not do

We do not tell you what a product will do to your skin. Sunscreens are regulated as over-the-counter drugs in the United States, and other skincare claims are subject to Federal Trade Commission rules on advertising. For those products we report what is on the label and in the filing, and we leave the interpretation to you and to a professional who knows your skin. Nothing here is medical advice.

We do not accept payment to include a product, to leave one out, or to describe it in a particular way.

How the site makes money

Some links to retailers are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Which products we cover and what we say about them is decided before any link is added, and a product with no affiliate program is covered the same way as one that pays. This is disclosed at the top of every page and again next to the links themselves. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
